Kensington Prep is seeking an outstanding and enthusiastic Visiting Music Teacher (Piano) to join our thriving Music Department from September 2026. This role combines one-to-one piano teaching with a significant contribution as a departmental accompanist, supporting a wide range of musical activities across the school.

We are looking for a candidate to work part-time, three days a week:

  • To deliver approximately 30 weekly high-quality one-to-one piano lessons to pupils across the school, from beginner to advanced level.
  • To act as a departmental accompanist, supporting rehearsals, performances, assemblies, concerts and examinations.
  • To contribute actively to the musical life of the department through collaboration with staff, visiting teachers and pupils.
  • To support the preparation of pupils for concerts, examinations and other performances.

The successful candidate will be a highly skilled pianist with a strong pedagogical approach and excellent collaborative skills. In addition to teaching individual piano lessons, the role plays a key part in supporting ensembles, rehearsals, concerts and performances and is well suited to a musician who enjoys working as part of a busy, ambitious department.

Visiting Music Teachers are independent, self-employed professionals who are supported by the Director of Music and are integral to the musical life of the school.
