Role
We are looking for an outstanding cello teacher to join our thriving Music Department within a highly successful girls’ school. The ability to teach the double bass at beginner/intermediate standard could also be advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Teach individual pupils (Years 7–13) from beginner to diploma standard.
- Possibly teach beginners on the double bass, if demand.
- Coach ensembles and participate in school performances.
- Work on a self‑employed basis, term time only.
- Create a timetable in line with school guidelines to deliver weekly 35‑minute lessons.
- Teach approximately six cello pupils per week (or as demand permits).
Qualifications & Attributes
- Outstanding musician with a strong background in cello performance.
- Effective communicator and inspiring teacher.
- Ability to teach at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels.
- Experience with ensemble coaching is desirable.
