Contract type: Permanent Part‑time (25 hours per week) – Term Time Only

Salary: Support Staff Grade 3

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Library Manager and support students in accessing library resources.
  • Support information‑literacy and reading‑for‑pleasure initiatives throughout the school year.
  • Help facilitate smooth day‑to‑day running of the Senior (Centenary), Junior and Early Years libraries.
  • Support lunchtime and after‑school clubs, reading competitions and exhibitions such as International Women’s Day, Black History Month and Neurodiversity Week.
  • Contribute to the development of students’ research skills, including Year 12 EPQ.
Qualifications
  • Passion for working with young people and good awareness of children’s and young adult literature.
  • Excellent organisational, proactive and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a small team.
  • Confidence using ICT; experience or awareness of library management systems is beneficial.
Department

The Library team operates three schools’ libraries – Senior (Centenary), Junior and Early Years – and uses these spaces to support and engage students in reading choices, lead clubs, launch reading competitions and showcase exhibitions for key events throughout the academic year.
