Sutton High School is seeking a Head of Chemistry to lead and develop Chemistry teaching and learning. The role may include Head of the Science Faculty responsibilities for suitably experienced candidates.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and delivery of Chemistry teaching and learning.
- Drive the vision for Chemistry within the science faculty and maintain its status as a popular subject.
- Line-management or leadership responsibilities for the science department as appropriate.
- Teach predominantly at A Level; current arrangements include teaching 28 out of 40 periods per week with a flexible afternoon or morning for remote work when possible.
Qualifications and experience
- Significant experience of A Level Chemistry teaching with an excellent record of pupil results.
- Experience in middle leadership or as Head of Department is highly desirable.
- Ability to offer a second science subject to GCSE is an advantage but not essential.
