DT Technician in Ealing

Notting Hill & Ealing High School, one of London’s leading independent girls’ day schools, has an exciting opportunity for an active and passionate technician to support our D&T department. We are looking for a D&T Technician, who is keen to get involved in all practical elements of the role. You will be working closely with the Head of D&T in all aspects of the Department's work and provide technical D&T support for the students. We are looking for a practically-minded, design aware technician to support and continue to develop an exciting department of Design & Technology.

Responsibilities

• Support the D&T department in all practical elements of the role, working closely with the Head of D&T.
• Provide technical D&T support for students.
• Assist in developing and expanding the department, with emphasis on Product Design, timber and polymers, CAD/CAM and additive manufacture.
• Work with facilities that include high-spec, modern equipment (two laser cutters and three 3D printers).
• Contribute to future plans to broaden coverage of metals, electronics, systems and control, possibly including technical textiles.
• Engage in activities to inspire and support students and maintain safety and safeguarding standards.
