GDS Partners are recruiting 2 x EHS Leads on behalf of a leading Civil Engineering Contractor for permanent positions based in Germany.

Our client is a well-established Civil Engineering Contractor delivering large-scale infrastructure and heavy civil engineering projects across Germany and mainland Europe. They have built an excellent reputation for delivering complex projects safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards, with Health, Safety, and Environmental performance at the forefront of every project.
About the role:
- Based in Germany.

Main duties will include, but not be limited to:
- Lead all Environmental, Health & Safety activities across major civil engineering projects.
- Promote a positive Health & Safety culture across all site operations.
- Carry out regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
- Review and approve RAMS and other Health & Safety documentation.
- Monitor subcontractor compliance with company standards and project requirements.
- Lead incident and accident investigations, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks, and Health & Safety briefings.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, client requirements, and relevant Health & Safety legislation.
- Prepare Health & Safety reports and maintain accurate project documentation.
- Work closely with project management teams, clients, and subcontractors to continuously improve Health & Safety performance.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5–7 years' experience in an EHS, Health & Safety, or SHEQ role within the construction sector.
- Civil Engineering experience is essential.
- Relevant Health & Safety qualification (NEBOSH or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and industry best practice.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- UK/EU Passport or right to work in EU essential.
