GDS Partners are recruiting an EHS Advisor on behalf of a leading M&E Contractor for a permanent position based in Cardiff, Wales.

Our client is a well-established Mechanical & Electrical Contractor delivering large-scale projects across the commercial, industrial, healthcare, data centre, and mission-critical sectors throughout the UK.

They have built an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality projects safely and efficiently and are committed to maintaining the highest standards of Health, Safety, and Environmental performance across all operations.

About the role

  • Permanent position based in Cardiff, Wales.

£60,000 - £75,000 depending on experience .

Main duties will include, but not be limited to

  • Carry out regular site inspections, audits, and workplace risk assessments.
  • Promote a proactive Health, Safety, and Environmental culture across all project teams.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures and UK Health & Safety legislation.
  • Review RAMS, permits to work, and other site safety documentation.
  • Support site management teams with Health & Safety advice and guidance.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Deliver toolbox talks, site inductions, and safety briefings.
  • Monitor subcontractor compliance and maintain high HSE standards across the site.
  • Produce HSE reports and maintain accurate site records.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies where required.

Requirements

  • Relevant Health and Safety Qualification (e. g. Degree, NEBOSH)
  • Previous experience within the construction or M&E sector.
  • Good understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation and CDM Regulations.
  • Experience carrying out site audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
