GDS Partners are recruiting an EHS Advisor on behalf of a leading M&E Contractor for a permanent position based in Cardiff, Wales.

Our client is a well-established Mechanical & Electrical Contractor delivering large-scale projects across the commercial, industrial, healthcare, data centre, and mission-critical sectors throughout the UK. They have built an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality projects safely and efficiently and are committed to maintaining the highest standards of Health, Safety, and Environmental performance across all operations.
About the role:
- Permanent position based in Cardiff, Wales.
- Opportunity to work on major M&E and construction projects.

Main duties will include, but not be limited to:
- Carry out regular site inspections, audits, and workplace risk assessments.
- Promote a proactive Health, Safety, and Environmental culture across all project teams.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and UK Health & Safety legislation.
- Review RAMS, permits to work, and other site safety documentation.
- Support site management teams with Health & Safety advice and guidance.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Deliver toolbox talks, site inductions, and safety briefings.
- Monitor subcontractor compliance and maintain high HSE standards across the site.
- Produce HSE reports and maintain accurate site records.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies where required.
Requirements:
- Relevant Health and Safety Qualification (e.g. Degree, NEBOSH).
- Previous experience within the construction or M&E sector.
- Good understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation and CDM Regulations.
- Experience carrying out site audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Salary & Benefits:
- Salary of £60,000 - £75,000 + Package depending on experience.
