GDi are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, and motivated Senior Structural Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have good knowledge of design principles, offshore operations, maintenance, layout, and plant design.
As a Senior Structural Designer, you are responsible for carrying out Structural Design for Global Design Innovation Ltd, and any other company as may be added to GDi’s portfolio.
Key Activities and Accountabilities:
- Skilled in preparing and checking design deliverables within the budget hours/Norms and schedule.
- Resolve technical queries and ensure satisfactory.
- Competent in completing site surveys and interpret survey data/document in completion of design deliverables.
- Supervision of other discipline designers as determined by the Lead or Principal Designer.
- Competent in preparing design scope for both man-hours and equipment estimates where necessary.
- Report on job progress.
- Management of 3rd Party Suppliers in the execution of design delivery as required.
- Support preparation of pre-qualification responses, proposals, tenders, and programmes for work.
Essential Skills & Abilities & Experience
- Good knowledge of Design Principles, offshore operations, maintenance layout and plant design, including but not limited to: Fabrication and constructability techniques, Lifting aid design, installation techniques and LOLER lift plans, Application of structural analysis packages, Survey Techniques, Other associated modifications within the Oil and Gas industry.
- Competent and Knowledgeable of regulatory framework and legislation.
- Compliance with company engineering procedures, industry, international and where appliable client codes and standards.
- Proficient in the use of AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D, Autodesk, ReCap.
- Ability to understand client requirements, define a scope of work through Concept/FEED/Detailed Design, and support fabrication and construction.
- Knowledgeable in constructability to support fabrication and construction.
- Foster positive and effective working relationships with Clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Proficient in various applicable design software systems and Microsoft packages.
- Good interpersonal skills – Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
