GDC Fire & Security is looking for full-time Fire and Security Engineers to join our friendly team based in Belfast. This is an exciting opportunity for experienced Engineers to join a family-run professional company. This is a Permanent position, Monday to Friday. We will provide you with a company vehicle, company pension alongside a competitive salary, with further opportunities for overtime available through call-outs and work outside our normal working hours.

Main Job Requirements:

  • The successful candidate will have demonstrable previous experience, technical skills, qualifications and knowledge of servicing (reactive and preventative) and installation and commissioning of Intruder and fire Alarm Systems, CCTV and access control.
  • The candidate must hold current qualifications, have a stable work history and a full UK driving licence.
  • The candidate will also need to be well organised and deliver excellent customer service.

Skills:

  • Technical knowledge of open and closed protocol; fire alarms, Intruder Alarms, Access Control and CCTV.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills for security systems, including networked/IP systems.
  • Excellent communication skills with customers whilst carrying out works at customer sites.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and a clean, tidy and professional work ethic at all times.
  • Ability to interpret building plans and create systems as installed and zone plans.
  • Defect report and rectification.
  • Completion of company documentation.
  • Effective planning and management of work.
  • Supervision and personal development of trainees.
  • Adhering to Health & Safety requirements.
  • Vehicle care and maintenance.

To be considered for this role you must:

  • Possess a full UK driving licence (clean license and over the age of 25).
  • Possess electrical knowledge.
  • Pass a DBS & security checks.
  • Have a proven background through an apprenticeship or similar qualification.
  • Have the ability to use hand tools and power tools.
  • Be able to carry, lift and climb ladders.

Salary: £28,000-£38,000 depending upon experience, with overtime and call-outs available. Subcontractors will also be considered.

Please note: We do not have a call-out rota at present although this may change in the future.
