GCU UK Ltd is a successful civil engineering company, delivering excellence in fibre network build and utilities. We are passionate about compliance, safety, and operational efficiency. Due to a growing portfolio of work, we are seeking an experienced SHEQ Advisor to join our team. This role is based in the Glasgow office.

What We Expect of You:

  • You’ll lead engaging safety workshops and training sessions, using multimedia tools and interactive methods to create meaningful learning experiences.
  • You’ll support the workforce with practical safety guidance, stay current with industry standards, and travel regionally to deliver workshops and outreach activity.
  • You will maintain accurate records for reporting, while carrying out day-to-day HSEQ duties such as inspections, audits, and investigations.
  • You’ll act as an Internal Auditor, planning and conducting internal audits, assessing compliance with company policies and industry regulations, and helping drive continuous improvement across our management systems.
  • You should be confident evaluating and improving safety programmes, and stepping in to guide safe behaviours and working conditions when needed.
  • You will ideally hold a NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety (or higher), certification for the Internal Auditor element of the role and have proven experience in safety coaching or training.
  • Strong knowledge of safety protocols, risk assessment, and regulations is essential, along with excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Solid organisation, the ability to manage multiple projects, and proficiency with multimedia presentation tools are important.
  • A full UK driving licence is required.
