GCU (UK) Ltd is seeking an experienced Civils Supervisor to support the delivery of fibre infrastructure projects across Devon. The role involves overseeing day‑to‑day site operations, coordinating labour, plant and materials, maintaining safety, quality and programme control, and liaising with subcontractors, authorities and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day‑to‑day site operations and ensure work is delivered safely, on time and to required standards.
- Coordinate labour, plant and materials with the Project Manager and delivery teams, maintaining full visibility of project progress.
- Maintain accurate records, reports and compliance documentation.
- Represent GCU on site, liaising with subcontractors, local authorities and clients, ensuring all activities comply with legislation and company procedures.
- Lead from the front, set clear expectations and uphold high standards of workmanship and professionalism.
- Proactively identify and resolve onsite issues, manage changing priorities and keep stakeholders informed through clear communication.
- Work across multiple sites and adapt to project needs.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a civils or utilities supervisory role, particularly in fibre or telecom infrastructure projects.
- Confidence and capability to lead teams on site and manage subcontractors effectively.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes and quality expectations.
- Relevant industry accreditations: SSSTS, valid CSCS card and Supervisor Street Works qualification.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills, able to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
