SQL DBA – Data heavy platform within the automotive industry – Hybrid
Role – SQL DBA
Type – Fixed term contract (3 months initially)
Salary – 75,000 – 80,000
Location – Hybrid, 2 days per week in the office (Victoria, London) / 3 day remote
Start – ASAP, need to have the ability to start by 8th August
Spec –
PURPOSE OF POST:
- Load Testing Plan and Execution
- DataOps practices (CI/CD for schema)
- Query tuning & execution plan analysis
- Governance, auditing, and compliance enforcement
- Working with developers to write scalable SQL
- Proactive anomaly detection using Query Store or Extended Events
QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS / ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED BY JOB HOLDER:
- Bachelor\’s or Master\’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a DBA for 5+ years
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server
- Experience with database monitoring and diagnostic tools (e.g., SQL Profiler, Redgate, SolarWinds)
- Hands-on with performance tuning and optimization (PTO)
- Experience in backup and recovery best practices
- Familiarity with High Availability and Disaster Recovery (HA/DR) options
- Proficiency in T-SQL scripting and automation
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
