Requirements:

  • Strong experience delivering Secure by Design outcomes within complex enterprise environments.
  • Experience reviewing solution architectures and identifying pragmatic security controls.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft security technologies.
  • Exposure to cloud, infrastructure, applications and integration security.
  • Experience supporting or administering security tooling and platforms.
  • Ability to operate independently and quickly add value in a fast-paced environment.
  • Security Architecture or Engineering background.
  • IAM technologies such as One Identity, Delinea or StrongDM.
  • Experience within regulated, utilities, energy or critical infrastructure environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Embed security into projects and programmes from day one.
  • Conduct security design reviews and lightweight threat modelling.
  • Drive security assurance throughout the delivery lifecycle.
  • Enhance configuration, adoption and effectiveness of security platforms.
  • Support onboarding and implementation of new security tooling.
  • Act as a key liaison between Security, Architecture, Engineering and Delivery teams.
  • Develop practical standards, templates and guidance to improve secure-by-design outcomes.
  • Manage platform-related requests, vendor engagement and continuous improvement initiatives.

We are seeking a hands-on Cyber Security Engineer to embed Secure by Design principles across technology programmes while helping improve and optimise a suite of enterprise security platforms. This is a 6-month contract role inside IR35 with London-based on-site working 1 to 2 days per week. We offer an excellent opportunity for a security professional who enjoys working across architecture, engineering and delivery teams, influencing projects from inception through to deployment while providing practical, pragmatic security guidance. This role gives a delivery-focused security contractor the chance to influence major technology initiatives, improve security engineering practices and help drive a Secure by Design culture across a large and complex organisation.
