An established professional services organisation is hiring a Data Protection Advisor to support the delivery of data protection and privacy compliance services across a diverse client base. The role focuses on providing practical, risk‑based advice, supporting ongoing compliance initiatives, and contributing to high‑quality project delivery. Reporting to a senior manager, the successful candidate will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders across multiple engagements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver data protection advisory and managed services, including privacy notices, briefing papers, consent materials, and reviews of policies and agreements.
  • Conduct data protection impact assessments (DPIAs), compliance audits, gap analyses, and data mapping exercises.
  • Support broader data governance and regulatory compliance activities.
  • Apply peer review processes and quality controls to ensure accuracy and consistency of outputs.
  • Identify and manage risks and issues arising within client engagements.
  • Support and manage client relationships, acting as a point of contact on assigned work.
  • Prepare client reports, project plans, action trackers, and related documentation.
  • Attend client meetings, workshops, and engagement activities as required.
  • Contribute to written materials such as newsletters, briefings, and outreach content.
  • Develop, review, and maintain data protection templates and documentation.
  • Deliver assigned project tasks on time, coordinating inputs from other contributors where needed.
  • Manage workload effectively, with awareness of timelines and delivery priorities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Postgraduate qualification in law, data protection, information governance, or a related discipline and/or a recognised data protection certification (e.g. CIPP/E or equivalent).
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a data protection, privacy, or compliance role.
  • Strong working knowledge of Irish, UK, and/or EU data protection legislation (including GDPR).
  • Proven ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical organisational guidance.
  • Experience managing multiple tasks and deadlines in a structured environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a client‑focused approach.

Preferred

  • Experience working in a consultancy or advisory environment.
  • Experience drafting client‑facing content such as briefings or newsletters.
  • Knowledge of data protection frameworks outside the EU.
