Personal Assistant Supporting Football, Music and an Active Social Life

My name is Liam, and I live in the Wishaw area. I am a fun-loving young man with a great sense of humour, and I am looking for a Personal Assistant to provide one-to-one support both at home and out in the community.
Some of my favourite activities include watching football and other sports on TV, shopping, listening to music and socialising. You will take a proactive and innovative approach to supporting me to take part in activities that suit my needs and interests, helping me enjoy a full and meaningful lifestyle.
In this role, you will support me with a range of daily living activities, including personal care and participation in social activities. I have a physical disability and require support to help me live as independently and actively as possible, and your role will be key in enabling me to achieve this.
The Role
Your duties will include:
- Assisting with all aspects of personal care including showering, toileting (including bowel movements) and shaving
- Supporting with medication
- Preparing meals and healthy snacks
- Assisting with feeding and drinking
- Moving and handling support, including pushing a manual wheelchair
- Using manual and tracking hoists
- Household shopping and collecting prescriptions
- Supporting travel on public transport
- Supporting participation in social and community activities
- Any other daily living tasks that promote independence
The role may also involve sleepovers, overnight stays, holidays and staying in my home when my parents are away.
About You
The ideal candidate will be:
- Warm, friendly and approachable
- Caring and patient with a genuine desire to work in a supportive role
- A good communicator with strong interpersonal skills
- Proactive and encouraging, with a positive attitude
Relevant experience is preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided.
Guaranteed permanent contract of 18 hours per week
There is a possibility that a full-time post may become available in the future.
Typical working pattern includes weekdays with an 8:00am start and Saturdays from 8:00am, as and when required.
Flexibility is essential. You will need to be available for sleepovers, overnight stays, holidays and to stay in my home when my parents are away.
There will be no requirement to work on Christmas Day or New Year's Day.
Any changes or additional hours will be discussed in advance where possible.
Pay
Β£13.45 per hour
