Support Friendship, Fitness and Fun in This PA Role

Kyle is a happy, outgoing and sociable 19-year-old young man living in the Airdrie area. He requires a female Personal Assistant to provide one-to-one support at home, in college and within the community.
Kyle has significant physical and neurological disabilities and requires support with personal care, daily living activities and participation in the activities he enjoys.
Kyle has a wide range of interests including going to the gym, hydrotherapy, bowling, cinema trips, lunches out and spending time with friends.
The Role
This role involves:
- Attending to all personal care needs (showering, toileting including bowel movements and shaving)
- Supporting Kyle with eating and drinking
- Assisting with medication and PEG/gastrostomy support
- Preparing meals, healthy snacks and blended diets
- Moving and assisting, including pushing a manual wheelchair
- Providing support one day per week in college from September (Mondays)
- Supporting community, leisure and fitness activities
- Completing any other daily living tasks that promote independence
We are looking for someone who is forward-thinking, enthusiastic and keen to support Kyle to try new activities and enjoy new experiences.
The most important qualities are a good sense of humour, a warm and friendly nature and a genuine desire to work in a caring role. A calm person who can work confidently under pressure is essential.
Pets are part of the household, so applicants must be comfortable working around a dog and cat.
Experience is preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided.
A driver with a Full Manual UK Driving Licence is essential, as you will be required to drive a manual mobility vehicle.
Hours of Work
Recruiting for 1 position
Guaranteed permanent position of 17 hours per week
Working Pattern
Monday: 9:00am β 3:30pm
Tuesday: 9:00am β 3:30pm
Flexibility would be appreciated when evening events arise.
Rate of Pay
Β£13.45 per hour
