Team of 2 Female Personal Care Assistants/Support Workers Ref: MMS/SF/10-25

Overview

Team of 2 Female Personal Care Assistants/Support Workers required (non-smoking) to assist an elderly couple, Mrs and Mr Gallagher, for 35 hours per week. Working pattern is three days one week and four days the next, with alternate weekends off – 10 hours per day: 8am to 1pm and 5pm to 10pm. The Gallagher\’s both have mobility difficulties, and one has dementia, but both live in their own home in the Rutherglen area. You would provide care and assistance within their home, including personal care and participation in social activities.

Favourite activities include watching TV, playing simple games, completing simple jigsaws and word searches, visiting coffee shops, shopping and socialising.

Responsibilities

• Attend to all personal care needs (showering, toileting including bowel movements, shaving).
• Assist with medication.
• Prepare healthy meals and snacks.
• Daily walks.
• Household shopping and collecting prescriptions.
• Light housework and laundry.
• Support daily living tasks to promote independent living.

Qualifications and qualities

• Experience is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
• The most important qualities are a warm and friendly nature and a desire to work within a caring role.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.

Employment details

• Hours of Work (with a degree of flexibility).
• Recruiting for a team of 2 people.
• Guaranteed permanent positions within the hours of 8am to 10pm as described above.
• Hourly rate: £13.00 per hour.
