About Kevin

Kevin is a 53‑year‑old male with learning disabilities, non‑verbal and no capacity. He loves music, concerts, events and socialising. He enjoys food, music and community activities. He has a wheelchair and walker and requires a personal assistant to support his daily living and recreational activities.

Role Overview

Personal Assistant – support Kevin with personal care, medication, mobility and social activities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with eating and drinking.
  • Support mobility using wheelchair and walker.
  • Administer medication as required.
  • Ensure security, health and safety.
  • Facilitate and attend recreational activities such as swimming, art galleries, science centre, cinema, theatres and concerts – including driving Kevin in an automatic mobility vehicle.
  • Suggest new activities and accompany Kevin on outings.

Requirements

  • Outgoing, friendly, compassionate, patient and honest.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to share passion for music and concerts.
  • Experience with learning disabilities is helpful but not mandatory.
  • A valid driving licence; must be able to drive an automatic vehicle.
  • Over 25 years of age, required for mobility insurance.
  • Reliable and trustworthy.

Job Details

  • Working 14 hours per week.
  • Pay rate £14.45 per hour.
  • Flexible days and times, subject to activity schedule.
  • Location: Cambuslang.
