We are looking for a female Personal Care Assistant/Support Worker to assist a woman with a physical disability living in the Carluke area.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one care and assistance within the home and in the community, including personal care and participation in social activities.
  • Attend to all personal care needs: showering, toileting (including bowel movements), medication administration, and assistance with walking.
  • Prepare meals and healthy snacks.
  • Assist with moving and pushing a manual wheelchair.
  • Shop for household items and collect prescriptions.
  • Support any other daily living tasks to promote independent living.
  • Comfortable working with pets (dog, cat or bird) in the household.
  • Be available to cover staff absences and holidays.
  • Encourage and support the individual in activities such as art, listening to audiobooks, swimming, music and socialising.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience in personal care or support work is required.
  • Driver's licence preferred but not essential.
  • Preferred to be fully vaccinated against Covid‑19; reasonable grounds for exemption will be considered.
  • Proactive and innovative approach to support and encourage individual participation.
  • Warm, friendly nature with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Hours & Pay

  • Guaranteed permanent position of 13 hours per week, divided into four shifts of 3.25 hours each.
  • Occasional weekends and evenings may be required, to be discussed at interview.
  • Hourly rate: £12.60.
