Hi, I’m John – and I’m looking for a Personal Assistant / Support Worker
I live independently in East Kilbride in a wheelchair-accessible ground floor home. I’m looking for someone friendly, reliable, and experienced to support me with my daily care, medical needs, social activities and with domestic duties. You’ll be part of a job share, sharing hours and occasionally covering each other’s leave.
About me:
I’m an adult male with a physical disability. I enjoy spending time at home, getting out and about, and having support that lets me live life as independently as possible. I value Personal Assistants who are honest, flexible, and diligent.
About you:
- Female and Male applicants welcome
- You have 3+ years UK experience as a Personal Assistant or hospital support worker or home carer
- You live locally in East Kilbride
- You have a full UK driving licence (held for at least 3 years) and are comfortable driving a large automatic estate car (must be 30+)
- You are happy to use a hoist for safe transfers (training will be provided)
- You are flexible and willing to provide occasional cover for team members’ sick leave or holidays
- You are a current PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) Scheme member, or willing to join the scheme
The role:
- Supporting me with personal care and medical needs
- Using a hoist for transfers safely
- Helping me get out and about and participate in activities
- Monday to Sunday – 24 hours normally 3 days over 7 (Flexible and to be discussed with employer at interview)
- Monday to Friday: £16.00 per hour
- Flexibility is important
This is a permanent role with a private employer, and sponsorship is not available.
