Job Overview
Provide care and assistance within Robert’s home, attending to personal care and participation in social activities.
Responsibilities
- Attend to all personal care needs (showering, toileting including bowel movements, shaving)
- Assist with medication
- Prepare meals and healthy snacks
- Assist in the community
- Move and assist – pushing manual wheelchair only when power chair broken, using tracking hoist
- Household tasks and shopping
- Any other daily living tasks to promote independent living
Hours
20 hours per week. Typically 2 hours in the evening, 4 hours Friday afternoon, one full weekend out of 2. Degree of flexibility to work additional hours is essential.
Qualifications
- Experience essential in a care environment
- Excellent verbal and listening skills, people skills
- Clean UK driving licence
- Right to work in the UK
- Must have a great understanding of English to support Robert who has advanced cerebral palsy and severe speech impairment
Certifications
- References from two employers, including current or most recent employer
- Updated PVG certificate from Disclosure Scotland
Desirable
- Driver with clean licence; must be over 25 years old for insurance purposes

Employment Terms
You will be employed directly by a Private Employer on a PAYE basis and will be entitled to all statutory rights as set out by Employment Law, such as paid holidays and statutory sick pay (where eligible).
