Lewis is a laid‑back, easy‑going adult living in Cumbernauld looking for a Personal Assistant to join their support team. They enjoy arts & crafts, music, Disney, food, YouTube, the cinema and swimming, all of which bring joy to their day. Lewis likes to stay active, with a typical day including the gym, swimming, yoga, shopping, or a trip to the cinema. Favourite places to visit include the Tryst Sports Centre and local shops in Cumbernauld, bowling and retail parks in Falkirk, Stirling Shopping Centre, and Glasgow for shopping and cinema.

The role of PA is to provide support with day‑to‑day living, including preparation and serving of meals and drinks, household tasks such as laundry and dishes, ensuring safety (e.g. locking doors), transport to activities, social and communication support, prompting to take vitamins, and administering PRN medication (such as paracetamol) when required.

We are recruiting for an additional PA to cover weekends. This will mostly involve 1–2 sleepovers per month, with some Saturday daytime shifts (e.g. 10am–4pm) also required. Good communication is essential to understand word play, repetitive speech and to support choices and needs. You must also be observant to pick up on changes in mood or behaviour, ensure safety when out and about, and follow established routines and instructions.

Ideal Candidate

  • Have experience supporting individuals with autism and learning difficulties
  • Be calm, good‑humoured and proactive
  • Be reliable and able to work within a caring role
  • Show patience, kindness and an ability to encourage independence
  • Hold good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience is preferred, but training can be provided

A driver is required and you will be required to use your own vehicle – mileage allowance will be paid.

Hours of Work

30 hours per 4‑week period
Mostly weekends (1–2 sleepovers per month, occasional Saturdays 10am–4pm)

Compensation

Hourly Rate: £14.00 per hour
Overnight Rate: £40 per shift
