Hello! I am Kathleen, and I am a fun loving, easy going young woman who enjoys music, socialising, shopping, and spending time with my family. A typical day would see me out and about enjoying life’s simple pleasures and my outdoor community. I love visiting the beach on a sunny day, going to local nature parks and lochs. I live at home, which is a busy but friendly place to be. I live with my family and my pet dog who I love, so I would ask for you to be comfortable around dogs, and a bonus if you share a love for them too!
This is a part time permanent position of 24 hours per week and is generally based in the Motherwell area, with travel in and around the local area required. There may be Ad-Hoc duties to accompany on Holidays. Your role is to provide person-centred support that promotes independence, dignity, safety, and wellbeing.
Responsibilities
- Personal care support (all aspects including continence care, bathing, and dressing)
- Assistance with nasogastric (NG) tube feeding (training provided)
- Assistance with Medication (training provided)
- Respiratory support (training provided)
- Epilepsy management (training provided)
- Wheelchair assistance and moving & assisting (training provided)
- Support to access the community and social activities
- Any other tasks that support independent living
- Overnight sleepover support
- Occasional holiday support
About You
Essential:
- A manual car driver – Full UK Drivers’ License
- Comfortable around dogs
- Commitment to performing sleep over shifts
- Kind, caring, and patient
- Confident and friendly, with good communication skills
- Reliable and trustworthy
- Able to work respectfully within a family home
- Willing to learn and follow guidance and training
Desirable:
- Previous experience in a similar role (Personal assistant or support worker)
- Training in the duties listed
The most important factor is being the right personality match for Kathleen. Full training for the role will be provided.
