Female Personal Care Assistant/Support Worker required to assist a 55-year-old female with an acquired brain injury resulting in a physical disability living in Motherwell. You would be required to provide one to one care and assistance within their home and in the community including attending to personal care and participation in social activities.
Responsibilities
- Attending to all personal care needs (showering, toileting including bowel movements, shaving)
- Assisting with medication
- Preparing meals and healthy snacks
- Walking and general exercise, assisting with participation in these physical activities
- Moving and assisting - pushing manual wheelchair
- General housework
- Any other daily living tasks to promote independent living
Interests include reading, cooking, shopping and swimming.
Approach and Qualities
Must take a proactive and innovative approach to support and encourage individual to be involved in activities suited to their needs. The most important qualities are a warm and friendly nature and a desire to work within a caring role. Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
Qualifications
Relevant care experience is required but not essential as training will be provided.
Hours and Pay
Hours of Work (with a degree of flexibility): Recruiting for zero hours contract 8-12 hours per week. Days and Times: 2 hours per evening Tue/Thu/Fri and Sun - 7:30PM - 9:30PM. Hourly rate: £12.60 per hour.
