A chatty, intelligent 28 year old male with physical and neurological disabilities requires a female PA. He lives in the Shotts area and is looking for a PA to help with daily needs, including personal care and going out in the community. Our lad is outgoing, caring, loves a laugh with lots of banter and has many interests including ice-skating, bowling, cinema, shopping, going out for food and enjoying his Xbox and iPad. He also enjoys going out on the bus, wheelchair football and visiting truck shows.
Responsibilities:
- Attending to all personal care needs (showering, catheter care, shaving)
- Assisting with medication
- Preparing meals and healthy snacks
- Assisting with participation in social activities
- Moving and assisting - pushing manual wheelchair, using manual hoist/tracking hoist
- Any other daily living tasks to promote independent living
We are looking for a PA who is chatty, genuine, patient and kind and who will understand his need for occasional privacy and quiet time. Someone who understands and respects confidentiality and enjoys working in a caring role. Pets in the household – you must be comfortable working with dogs and cats in the home. A Driver with a Full UK Manual Driving Licence is essential, as you will be required to drive a manual mobility vehicle. Relevant care experience is required.
Working Schedule:
Hours of Work (with a degree of flexibility): Guaranteed position of 5 hours per week, with the opportunity of overtime to cover existing team annual leave and absence. Days and time to be confirmed at interview - flexible.
Remuneration:
Hourly Rate: £13.00 per hour.
