Overview

Personal assistants required to support a 16 year old boy with autism and a learning disability, living in Bishopbriggs. The role involves caring, patient, reliable and fun-loving support.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support with personal care and to develop the skills needed to carry out activities of daily living.
  • Support to access social and leisure activities that he enjoys and to build friendships and connections.

About the candidate and preferences

Our son loves to learn about countries—flags, languages and cultures; he enjoys swimming, bowling, eating out, playing FIFA, music and dancing. We would like to hear from people who share these interests and want to help him achieve his potential.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Must be physically fit.
  • Due to the nature of the role, a male candidate is preferred.
  • Experience of supporting young people with autism and a learning disability is desirable but not essential.
  • Driver with a clean licence desirable but not essential.

Details

  • Rate of pay: £18 per hour.
  • Up to 15 hours per week available (after school, evening and weekends; days/times can be discussed at interviews).
  • Additional hours during school holidays and to provide cover available.
