The Role
As a Rural Surveyor / Land Agent, you will:
- Provide professional land and property advice on behalf of a wide range of clients
- Deliver infrastructure, utilities, and renewable energy projects to a consistently high standard
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, landowners, occupiers, contractors, and consultants
- Lead negotiations and manage stakeholder expectations throughout project lifecycles
- Support property and asset management activities, including long-term improvement strategies
- Manage capital and operational budgets and investment programmes
- Identify and develop new business opportunities across the North East region
- Support and mentor junior colleagues and trainees within the team
- Maintain accurate project records and ensure compliance with quality management procedures
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring delivery on time and within budget
Rural Surveyor / Land Agent Requirements
- MRICS or AssocRICS qualification preferred
- Candidates working towards professional qualifications will also be considered
- Previous experience within rural surveying, land agency, infrastructure, utilities, or renewables advantageous
- Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
- Experience using GIS platforms
- Knowledge of Microsoft Project is desirable but not essential
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities effectively
- Commercially minded with a proactive approach to client service and business development
