Job Purpose
Reporting to the Financial Controller, as Management Accountant you will contribute to the continuous improvement of the Firm’s Finance function, assisting in the production of concise, well presented management financial reports across the Group as well as being involved in the reconciliation of inter-company balances and month end consolidations. The role will also involve assisting in the implementation of new systems and robust processes.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Management Accounts, Financial Statements & Consolidation: Contribute to the accurate and timely preparation of the Group’s entity and consolidated management accounts and financial statements, in compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Reporting: Prepare reports for Senior Management, Board, auditors, regulatory bodies, and investors.
- Budgets & Forecasts: Collaborate with FP&A on the Group’s budgeting and forecasting to support financial planning and strategic decisions.
- External Audits: Contribute to the Group’s external audit requirements, including the preparation of audit schedules, provision of necessary documentation and responses to audit queries.
- Other External Relationships: Contribute to the Group’s relationship with international accountants and assist with the relationship with tax authorities and regulatory bodies.
- General Ledger Management: Contribute to the accuracy and integrity of the Group’s entire general ledger, including daily reconciliations, monthly balance sheet reconciliations and month end close procedures.
- Transaction Processing: Contribute to the Group’s accounting and processing of all financial transactions including commissions, accounts payable, payroll and client transactions.
- Cost Management & Strategic Planning: Contribute to the categorisation and tracking of the Group’s costs to improve financial efficiency, and to provide financial insights.
Tax and Regulatory Compliance
- Tax Compliance & Planning: Contribute to the Group’s timely and accurate tax filings (corporation tax & VAT) and compliance with tax regulations.
- Regulatory Compliance & Internal Controls: Contribute to the Group’s timely and accurate regulatory filings and adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Internal Controls: Contribute to the design and implementation of strong internal controls for the Group to ensure the reliability of financial reporting, safeguard company assets, and prevent fraud.
- Risk Management & Compliance: Collaborate with Risk and Compliance teams to monitor and report on the Group’s financial risks and ensure policy adherence.
- Technology & Process Automation: Contribute to the usage and evolution of the Group’s financial systems, ensuring synchronisation and accuracy of transactions, and assisting with the implementation of automation to improve operational efficiency.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Communication: Contribute to aligning financial decisions with the Group’s strategies and acting as a liaison between Finance and other departments/stakeholders.
