A leading contractor requires a proven CAD technician to join their design department delivering utilities projects across London.
The Role
- Preparation of project design drawings, including Engineering Models, Route maps, Strip maps, Working Areas, Site Establishment, Traffic Management maps, Crossing drawings, etc.
- Preparation of project design documents, including Master document register, IP List, Crossing register, Borehole Register, Obstacle list, Temporary Works Register etc.
- Responsibility for site Engineering Document Control, ensuring that all project documents are issued to relevant parties, including Engineers, Surveyors, Construction Managers, Foremen, & 3rd Party Sub contractors.
- Ensuring that the Engineering Data held on the Project Server is current & up to date at all times.
- Coordinate with internal & external team members/design teams to assist in the Design process, providing independent checking & review services where required.
- Provide the Project Engineering Team with CAD & Design support throughout the project.
- Input into the production of monthly progress reports.
- Liaise with colleagues, other departments and project teams with respect to drawing requirements.
- Prepare drawings in accordance with current standards and codes of practice including reinforced concrete detailing/scheduling and structural steel detailing.
- Ensure that drawings are prepared, stored, issued and archived in accordance with company procedures.
- Ensure that chargeable work can be evaluated by the preparation of adequate records of time spent.
- Train other staff members on the use of Autodesk/AutoCAD by means of individual coaching group training courses as appropriate.
Skills/Experience Required
- Proven experience in 3D drawings within the utilities sector.
- Experience with the Autodesk AEC Suite including Civil 3D and Navisworks.
