Deliver expert technical consultancy to clients on GBST products, ensuring they fully understand how platform components can support their business and technical objectives. Provide technical guidance and support to internal product development teams, contributing insights from client implementations to improve product design, quality, and usability.
  • Support Services: Collaborate with clients and Business Analysts to analyse application performance trends, proactively identifying optimisation opportunities and implementing system tuning to meet future needs. Provide mentorship and guidance to the team in resolving complex, cross‑functional issues that span multiple subsystems, ensuring timely and robust problem resolution.
  • Pre‑sales Support: Lead the technical workstream in preparing responses for the technical components of RFIs and RFPs, providing guidance on solution design using existing product capabilities or required enhancements, including integration with existing client environments. Collaborate with the pre‑sales team to deliver technical workshops and demonstrations for prospective clients, articulating potential solution approaches and showcasing how GBST’s technology can address their business and technical needs.
  • Contributes to the success of a high performing team: Actively participate in team meetings, raising issues proactively, sharing knowledge and achievements, and providing guidance, training, and direction to support team development. Build and maintain strong, collaborative working relationships across the team and wider organisation to enhance communication, alignment, and delivery effectiveness. Communicate information, insights, and decisions clearly and effectively, ensuring the team is informed, aligned, and able to act efficiently. Foster successful collaboration across all areas of the business, promoting transparency, partnership, and cohesive execution of cross‑functional initiatives. Lead the technology team in identifying, prioritising, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives across project methodologies, processes, and supporting tools to enhance delivery efficiency and quality. Mentor and encourage team members to pursue continuous improvement in solution design and technical architecture, reinforcing best practices and driving technical excellence where applicable. How to prepare for a job interview at GBST

Brush Up on Your Technical Skills

For an IT consulting role, be ready to demonstrate your technical prowess. You might face questions on systems integration, cloud technologies, or even troubleshooting specific software. If you have experience with tools like AWS, Azure, or even specific programming languages, make sure you can talk about them fluently.

Showcase Your Problem-Solving Approach

IT consulting is all about solving problems for clients. Think about how you can illustrate your approach to a past challenge using the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result). It's a great way to show how you tackle complex issues and come up with effective solutions.

Know the Business Impact of IT Solutions

When discussing your experiences, focus not just on the tech solutions you implemented, but also on their business impact. Employers want to see that you can connect IT with organisational goals. Prep examples that highlight how your tech contributions improved efficiency or reduced costs for past clients or projects.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

Since IT consulting often involves teamwork and client interactions, expect behavioural questions that assess your interpersonal skills. Be prepared with examples that demonstrate your adaptability, communication skills, and how you handle client feedback. Before the interview, think of situations where you worked closely with clients to create effective IT strategies or changes.
