The opportunity for you: We’re now on the lookout for a Senior Business Analyst who within a project, will provide quality Business Analysis to internal and external clients. You will be required to analyse and determine business requirements and create user stories which will lead to the development of business solutions software, UI and API designs. You will act as the business lead supporting one or more scrum teams. In addition, you will be required to work with clients to produce business design documents and assist with the production of HLEs and/or FPQs. You’ll be joining a global, diverse team in an Australian based company and collaborate with cross-functional teams. This is a permanent full-time opportunity based in London.

What you will do:

  • Professionally engage with clients (internal and external) to identify and accurately document business objectives and requirements.
  • Write BA Deliverables (including and not limited to overall scope documentation, outcome-based Epics and user stories, business requirements, use cases, UI designs, API designs, features and software requirements) and ensure requirements map back to business objectives. This covers the entire project lifecycle; through to the client’s acceptance into production.
  • Liaise constantly with Project or Scrum Team (Developer, Tester, Implementation, Documentation and Training) to ensure accurate mapping to business requirements, test coverage, implementation, documentation including release notes and training requirements are met.
  • Provide client support during User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure the development meets acceptance criteria.
  • Write business design specifications that document desired outcome of development including SaaS and TaaS and NFR considerations. Designs completed on schedule, within time budget and approved by internal Product Boards and ultimately by the client/s.
  • Help the Product Owner to plan the overall release plan in a way that meets MVP and overall delivery within agreed timeframes.
  • Ability to redesign business processes using modern principles.
  • Prepare material and provide training and assistance to end-users following implementation.
  • Conduct demonstrations of completed enhancements internally and for sponsoring clients.

Industry and Software Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of current legislation in either Australia or UK including Superannuation, Pensions, Savings etc.
  • Experience in participating in the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Experience in planning releases based on MVPs and desired client outcomes.
  • Knowledge of data models.
  • Knowledge of Investment Management.
  • Experience in UI and API designs and best practices to allow successful client consumption.
  • Compliance with GBST policies and standards.
  • Adherence to GBST’s Quality Management System.
  • Complete Timesheets in accordance with timesheet guidelines.
  • Build sound working relationships with internal and external clients.
  • Contributes to the success of a high performing team.
  • Participates and runs team/scrum meetings to bring up issues, share knowledge, share achievements, and provide training and direction. Able to cover for scrum master if required.
  • Develop strong and effective working relationships.
  • Effectively communicate information and insights to the team.
  • Ensure successful communication/work with all areas of the business.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in project methodologies, processes and supporting tools to identify and implement improvement opportunities.
  • Ensures compliance with GBST policies and standards, and with all local statutory requirements.
  • Complies with all local legislative requirements.
  • Adheres to company policies and procedures and the corporate Code of Conduct.
  • Where appropriate keeps up to date with legislative requirements through membership of industry organisations.
  • Ensures personal adherence to workplace health and safety requirements and either addresses or brings to management’s attention when others are in breach of these requirements.
  • Acts in an ethical way when dealing with company assets and other people.

You will be someone with:

  • Tertiary qualifications and/or at least 5 years of experience in the IT or Finance industry as a Business Analyst.
  • Detailed knowledge in Superannuation or UK Pension and Wrap systems.
  • Experience in participating in the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely ideas, solutions and problems.
  • Logical and analytical problem investigation and resolution skills.
  • Experience using Jira and Confluence.
  • Manage internal and external client expectations.
  • Able to work in both Waterfall and Agile development environments.

Desirable experience and skills:

  • Knowledge of SQL, XML.
  • UX design skills.
  • High level understanding of Composer data model.
  • Workflow experience.
  • Experience in compliance requirements of the relevant Industry.
  • Participated in legislative work groups (e.g. ATO or HMRC).
  • Testing skills.
  • Training skills.
