Job Description Come and take a look if you can: Manage AWS server and storage deployments, including image management, backup/restore, and high availability/disaster recovery strategies Write health check scripts and manage monitoring environments to ensure system availability and reliability Administer AWS infrastructure end-to-end, with a focus on Linux-based systems Support the maintenance and backup of stateful workloads for SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Elasticsearch Build machine images using tools like Packer and Ansible for Docker images and AMIs Troubleshoot complex operational issues and resolve system problems Manage environment resources using Terraform for fully scripted environment provisioning Oversee AWS provisioning via Terraform and AWS CLI Manage CI/CD environments and automated pipelines with Jenkins Use Git source code management for all scripting Support Docker container deployments within Kubernetes, and ensure familiarity with Kubernetes concepts Leverage Linux OS fundamentals like shell commands, SSH, and LinuX Containers (LXC) for system management Troubleshoot DNS, proxy, TLS, and network issues in software-defined networks Desired Skills and Experience You’ll be a success in this role if you can bring: Strong experience as a Linux system administrator A track record of running production systems on AWS (or equivalent platforms like Azure or Google Cloud) Knowledge of Amazon EC2, including machine image management and high availability strategies Expertise in monitoring tools such as EFK, Splunk, Nagios, and Prometheus Experience in cloud-based networking, multi-tier application architecture, and containerization Experience with multi-tenant infrastructure or SaaS environments Proficiency in scripting languages like Shell, Python, and Go Familiarity with agile working environments Experience in Financial Services or comparable work GBST&U benefits include: Private Health Insurance including Dental and Optical Cover Non-contributory Pension Scheme Salary Sacrifice – Car Scheme, Cycle to Work Scheme and Additional Pension Flexible working arrangements Employee Assistance Program (EAP) GBST U-Day – an extra day of leave per year We pride ourselves on being innovative in our approach in how we work and adapt to new technologies to deliver on key solutions for our customers.
