To provide academic leadership and operational oversight for curriculum quality assurance and enhancement across the institution. The Curriculum Quality Lead will manage and support the Curriculum Quality Advisors, ensuring the design, review, and continuous improvement of curriculum and assessment. The role will drive the integration of best practice, innovation, and inclusivity in curriculum design, supporting institutional strategy, regulatory compliance, and improved student outcomes.

Role And Responsibilities

  • Lead, coordinate, and support the Curriculum Quality Advisors in delivering curriculum and assessment design, review, and enhancement activities.
  • Oversee the implementation and continuous improvement of curriculum quality assurance systems, ensuring consistency and quality across campuses and programmes.
  • Facilitate curriculum development workshops and training sessions for academic staff, promoting best practice in curriculum design, assessment, and pedagogy.
  • Audit and review existing curriculum and assessments, providing constructive feedback and recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaborate with the Associate Dean and other academic leaders to align curriculum quality activities with institutional strategy, KPIs, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support the integration of digital technologies, inclusive practices, and generative AI into curriculum and assessment design.
  • Use data and feedback to inform curriculum development priorities and report on impact.
  • Mentor and support the professional development of Curriculum Quality Advisors.
  • Foster a positive, ethical, and inclusive culture, modelling honesty in feedback, attention to detail, and a focus on deadlines and impact.
  • Maintain accurate records of curriculum quality activities, feedback, and outcomes.
  • Undertake any other duties as may reasonably be required, including administrative tasks appropriate to the role.

Essential Skills And Experience

  • Recognised teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience in curriculum design, review, and enhancement in higher education.
  • Experience of leading or coordinating a team or academic project.
  • Strong knowledge of contemporary pedagogic practice, assessment, and inclusive education.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and feedback skills.
  • Ability to analyse data and use it to inform improvement.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Commitment to ethical practice, inclusivity, and continuous professional development.

Desirable Skills And Experience

  • Experience supporting academic staff with curriculum development and quality assurance processes.
  • Experience integrating digital technologies and generative AI into curriculum and assessment.
  • Experience responding to regulatory, partnership, or professional body requirements in curriculum design.
