The role: We are currently seeking Hourly Paid Lecturers in Computing to join our growing team and create a positive impact on the lives of our students by cultivating the specialist skills and knowledge that will shape their long-term success in the computing industry.

What you'll be doing: As an hourly-paid lecturer in Computing at Global Banking School, you will deliver modules based around the three main themes of the programme: Technology, Software, and Data. You will deliver comprehensive course materials that will equip students with an understanding of database systems, internet technologies, data, cybersecurity, networking, and business information systems. You will undertake all aspects of learning, teaching, and assessment of students and keep up to date with the latest developments in your field and student support practices.

  • All aspects of planning, delivering, and assessing student work, ensuring that all learning outcomes are met
  • Using a variety of learning and teaching methods/materials
  • Actively engaging in staff development activities, peer observations, meetings, and other administrative duties
  • Understanding and keeping up-to-date with the latest developments in your field and student support practices
  • Working towards a range of clearly defined objectives for student attendance, continuation, completion, satisfaction, and student progression

About you: You will hold a Master's degree in a relevant subject area (PhD desirable). You will have previous UK HE lecturing experience in the wider subject area. You will be able to demonstrate extensive knowledge of two or more of the following areas:

  • Web development
  • Database systems
  • Cloud computing
  • Networking
  • Cybersecurity
  • IoT and emerging technologies
  • Business IT systems
  • IT management
  • AI and Machine Learning
  • Operating Systems
  • UI/UX

You will have experience supervising student work and providing support and feedback. You will have experience of accurate reporting and the ability to maintain thorough and organised student records. You will have excellent communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills. You will be able to work with diverse groups of people.
