To support the design, review, and continuous improvement of curriculum and assessment across the institution, ensuring that programmes are fit for purpose, inclusive, and aligned with institutional and regulatory standards. The Curriculum Quality Advisor will work closely with academic teams to embed best practice, innovation, and continuous improvement in curriculum design and delivery, supporting the Centre for Academic Excellence’s mission to enhance student outcomes and academic quality.
ROLE and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Contribute to the design, review, and enhancement of curriculum and assessment materials, ensuring alignment with institutional strategies, sector standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Facilitate curriculum development workshops and training sessions for academic staff, promoting best practice in curriculum design, assessment, and pedagogy.
- Support the integration of digital technologies, inclusive practices, and generative AI into curriculum and assessment design.
- Audit and review existing curriculum and assessments, providing constructive feedback and recommendations for improvement.
- Collaborate with the Curriculum Quality Lead and other academic colleagues to ensure consistency, quality, and innovation in curriculum development.
- Maintain accurate records of curriculum development activities, feedback, and impact.
- Respond to curriculum and assessment needs identified through data analysis, student feedback, and institutional KPIs.
- Contribute to the development and dissemination of resources, guidance, and good practice across the institution.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, inclusivity, and academic excellence within the Centre.
- Undertake any other duties as may reasonably be required, including administrative tasks appropriate to the role.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS and EXPERIENCE:
- Recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience in curriculum design, review, and enhancement in higher education.
- Strong knowledge of contemporary pedagogic practice, assessment, and inclusive education.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
- Ability to adapt curriculum development to meet the needs of diverse programmes and student cohorts.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Commitment to ethical practice, inclusivity, and continuous professional development.
DESIRABLE SKILLS and EXPERIENCE:
- Experience integrating digital technologies and generative AI into curriculum and assessment.
- Experience supporting academic staff with curriculum development and quality assurance processes.
- Experience responding to regulatory, partnership, or professional body requirements in curriculum design.
