The Role: As a Senior Academic Services Administrator, you will play a vital role in shaping the student experience by leading high-quality academic administration, ensuring smooth academic operations and serving as a key link between faculty, students and institutional success. The Senior Academic Services Administrator will provide support to the Associate Registrar (Academic Services) and Academic Services Manager. You will supervise the Academic Services Administrators and take responsibility for various areas of Academic Services.

This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship!

What the Role Involves:

  • Responsibility for the supervision of Academic Services Administrators and training new members of staff
  • Delegate workload to the Academic Services Administrator to support the overall delivery of Academic Services tasks
  • Collation and distribution of information from partner agencies
  • Collating and storing highly confidential documentation
  • Co-ordinate and support the preparation of Assessment Boards, Exams, Enrolment and other areas of Academic Services
  • Ensure all information relating to the information stored onto the Student Management System is accurate
  • Daily checking of Power BI reports to ensure the accuracy and quality of data stored within Thesis, highlighting any areas of concern to the Academic Services Leadership Team
  • Responsibility for ensuring the accuracy of the curriculum information stored on Thesis and regularly checking the information stored on the student record
  • To be involved with the organisation and operation of Awards Ceremonies
  • To deal with queries by telephone, letter, e-mail and face to face from academic and professional services colleagues and students in relation to a number of Registry issues
  • To undertake other appropriate duties as required by the Associate Registrar (Academic Services) or Academic Services Manager

About You:

  • Higher Education experience
  • Experience of supervising or managing people
  • Ability to manage the workload of your team and yourself
  • Customer/student focused approach
  • Strong IT skills with proficiency in MS Office applications such as Excel, Word, Outlook Mail
  • Excellent communication skills via email and telephone as well as confident in dealing with all levels of staff
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work well as part of a team
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • The post holder must be flexible, approachable, and helpful with a strong customer service ethic
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information, within the requirements of GDPR
  • At peak periods a willingness to work additional hours as necessary to ensure deadlines are met and a willingness to accept travel between university sites and occasional travel off-site.

  • Ability to use initiative and judgement to resolve matters
  • A can-do attitude with well-developed problem-solving skills.
