Our client is currently looking for a permanent site manager to work on an exciting project in Bristol. You will be pivotal in assisting the Project Managers to manage projects from pre-construction to completion. You will assist in ensuring that our customers receive excellent customer service, high quality finished projects and delivery that is on time and to budget. You will foster the culture of our company and motivate our team to perform at their best. You will create an interdependent safety culture so that our team go home in the condition that they arrived for work and to support our professional reputation.
The role:
- Safety, Health and Environment: Visibly lead the culture of health, safety and environmental protection ensuring all safety documentation is completed, as well as adherence to policy and safe systems of work, so that we minimise risk, prevent injury to the team, protect the business and ensure that everyone gets home safely at the end of every day.
- Project Supervision: Assist the Project Manager with supervising and overseeing the direction of the project, ensuring that the clients specifications and requirements are met and reviewing progress.
- People Supervision: Assist the Project Manager to co-ordinate, direct and supervise on-site operatives.
- Safety Inspections: Carry out site inspections ensuring the project remains safe at all times.
- Labour Training: Assist the Project Manager to ensure all labour on the project have the right tickets, certificates and training to complete the tasks safely.
- Project Tracking: Ensure all systems and documentation required is completed under the direction of the Project Manager.
- Quality Assurance: Review project quality and ensure all QA documentation is complete, investigating any quality issues and taking remedial action as needed, so that a high-quality finish is achieved for our clients.
- Project Reviews: Attend the project review with the project team.
- Client Management: Attend contractor and client meetings providing updates and information, as required by the Project Manager, building good relationships with the client.
- Inter-departmental Collaboration: Work with other departments such as the Designers, Procurement, Cost Planners, Quantity Surveyors and Health and Safety to ensure smooth communication between all departments for the efficient running of the project.
What experience, knowledge and qualifications will I need to apply?
Essential: 3 years plus years experience as a Site Manager. Qualifications including: SSSTS / NVQ Level 3 / 5 / 6 / Appointed Person / 1st Aid EFAW.
Desirable: NEBOSH / Abrasive tools / Scaffold and net inspection / Crane Lift Supervisor.
What competencies and skills will I need to do well? The ability to build working relationships across the business internally and externally with customers and suppliers to be able to work collaboratively.
