We are looking for an Office Manager to ensure smooth day‑to‑day operation and a welcoming environment in Reading (RG1). This hands‑on role supports the wider business by managing office operations, events, and health and safety compliance. The position is on‑site, 3 days a week, 22.5 hours per week (ideally Monday, Wednesday and Thursday).
Responsibilities
- Manage building facilities, liaise with landlord and contractors.
- Control notice board information, parking, and room booking.
- Ensure contractor approval process and documentation are current.
- Own the annual health and safety and fire audits and take actions to maintain standards.
- Manage employees’ “Driving for Work” controls, including licence and insurance checks.
- Conduct Display Screen Risk Assessments and support equipment purchasing.
- Organise Fire Marshal and First Aid training, and maintain recruitment of Fire Marshalls and First Aiders.
- Serve as a Fire Marshal and First Aider.
- Perform front‑of‑house activities: welcome guests, promote safety requirements, and maintain accurate records.
- Welcome new starters, ensuring they know all facilities.
- Manage catering orders, deliveries, and stock levels of office or event‑related items.
- Own event management for formal and informal internal events and coordinate charity fundraising.
- Manage all incoming courier and mail deliveries.
- Support the business with ad hoc requests as required.
Qualifications
- GCSE level or equivalent.
- 5+ years of administrative support experience desirable.
- Experience with the Simpro Group tech stack.
- Ability to handle high volume, multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, ever‑changing environment.
- Collaborative team‑player with a great attitude.
- Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Highly flexible, available, and responsive—particularly across multiple global time zones.
