GBR Recruitment Ltd are proudly working exclusively with a well established & highly progressive construction & civils business employing over 500 FTE's, recruiting for an experienced HR Officer to support the SMT and all employees with all HR processes, with a key focus on Employee Relations, Training and Systems, providing relevant training and coaching, ensuring adherence to Company policies & employment legislation.

This role is based on-site 5 days a week at the clients Leicestershire depot & will also involves trips to live construction sites within the county to support Site Managers.

The client is seeking a HR generalist, ideally with a CIPD L5 qualification or working towards it currently (they do offer support for all employees looking to up-skill & achieve additional qualifications).

Knowledge of the construction, civils, manufacturing or M&E sectors is beneficial.

Duties:

  • Manage all ERand performance cases to resolution and shared with HR team via current case document, escalated to HRM where required
  • Build SMT capability by coaching and supporting leads to confidently manage employee relations, performance and well-being matters, reducing risk and improving people outcomes.
  • Support all organisational structure changes within the group, supporting manager leads throughout
  • Deliver an efficient, high-quality recruitment process that attracts and secures the right talent for the business, supporting hiring managers from advertising through to offer and on-boarding as required.
  • Prepare any contractual paperwork as and when required.
  • Drive consistency in recruitment practices by coaching managers and promoting a fair, professional and inclusive hiring approach across the Group.
  • Lead the Group's apprenticeship and early careers programme, developing strong partnerships with colleges and training providers while ensuring apprentices and trainees receive the support, mentoring and development needed to succeed and build future talent for the business.
  • Provide people insights by maintaining accurate HR data, producing reports and dashboards, and identifying trends that support informed business decisions.
  • Ensure accurate data entry and updates on the HR system and generate reports as needed.
  • Support the payroll processes and running of payroll when required, keep quarterly refresher in place.
  • Support the Quarter Century event
  • Own and continually improve the Group intranet, ensuring colleagues have access to relevant, engaging and up-to-date people information.
  • Own, create and distribute the monthly people announcements, and support the HRA with the communication calendar of events.
  • Administer and manage all Drugs and Alcohol testing, attending refresher training when required.
  • Dealing with all telephone queries promptly
  • Support Group HR Director with ad hoc requests and projects
  • Undertake additional duties appropriate to the role, skills, and level of competence as reasonably requested.
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of Health & Safety requirements including emergency procedures and hazard reporting
  • Ensure full compliance with all company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure full compliance with GDPR and company data protection policies when handling customer personal information (if applicable)

Attributes:

  • CIPD qualification Level 5 or working towards it currently
  • Understanding of PeopleXD would be a benefit (not a must)
  • High level of ER experience
  • Recruitment experience
  • Good knowledge of GDPR
  • A strong knowledge of employment legislationExperience working with payroll systems would be a benefit (not a must)
