GBR Recruitment Ltd are proudly working in exclusive partnership with a leading construction client (90% housing, 10% commercial & industrial projects) recruiting for a Civil engineering professional, hiring for an experienced Civil Planning Engineer /Civil Project Engineer to ensure every site development is technically ready for construction, delivered safely, compliantly & efficiently, enabling the business to build high-quality homes & other buildings OTIF & meeting the construction programme goals & within the set budget.

This key role could suit someone working as a Civil Planning Engineer, Civil Infrastructure Engineer, Civil Engineer, Planning Engineer, Drainage Engineer, Civil Project Engineer or Pre-Construction Engineer with experience of carrying out the below listed duties.

As the Civil Planning Engineer you will successfully provide civil engineering support for the Group's development projects. Supporting site-based teams with technical queries & providing practical civil engineering solutions in a timely manner.

Duties:

  • Play a key role in all civil engineering schemes, ensuring they are delivered on programme, within the set budget & to the required quality standards, enabling successful project delivery across all developments.
  • Ensuring all statutory approvals from highways, drainage & other adopting authorities are successfully negotiated & secured in line with project programmes, ensuring construction can proceed without avoidable delays.
  • Ensuring civil engineering designs consistently meet all relevant legislation, technical standards & adopting authority requirements, reducing compliance risks & avoiding the need for redesign.
  • Playing a key role in civil works project management for all of group build projects across residential, commercial & industrial schemes.
  • Engineering the correct specifications are in place in order to provide practical, buildable & cost-effective solutions that optimise value while maintaining quality, compliance & long-term performance.
  • Ensuring external engineering consultants deliver coordinated, high-quality designs that meet project requirements, are issued on time & minimise site queries, delays & rework requirements.
  • Ensure safe working practices are followed at all times in line with H&SE.

Attributes:

  • Experience working as a Civil Planning Engineer, Civil Infrastructure Engineer, Civil Engineer, Planning Engineer, Drainage Engineer, Civil Project Engineer or Pre-Construction Engineer or similar.
  • Possess a HNC/HND in Civil Engineering, Construction or equivalent relevant hands-on experience in a comparable role.
  • Competency in AutoCAD & civil engineering/drainage design software.
  • Experienced in the design & technical approval of highways & drainage infrastructure, including S38, S278 & S104 legal agreements (in line with the Highways Act 1980).
