GBR Recruitment are proud to be working exclusively with a well-established & progressive North East UK based food manufacturing client recruiting for a Quality Manager to lead the Sunday to Thursday shift QA / QM team to success, ensuring all food product lines are produced to the quality expectations of the Major Retail customers, the company standards & BRC.
This role is a key one involving the inspection of raw materials, the inspection of ingredients & finished food lines (chilled food product lines). You will be a Quality professional from the chilled food sector, with strong GMP & CCP Audits, BRC Audits & Standards, QAS, COSHH, HACCP, Food Hygiene & Food Safety in this varied critical role.
QAM Job Responsibilities:- Manage Quality (QMS), Food Safety & Hygiene teams working to BRC standards & company expectations.
- Review Quality working processes (SSOW / SOPS) on the shop floor.
- Manage Quality compliance, policies & working processes.
- Ensure KPI's are monitored & that targets are achieved.
- Factory floor Quality coaching & development (CI focused).
- Manage & carry out all food line non-conformances & complaints investigations.
- Ensure all staff on site follow GMP Quality & Food Safety requirements.
- Manage all stock that is on hold & the stock release process.
- Supplier & BRC audit assistance.
- Site traceability exercises.
- Manage the routine analysis from intake to out load of raw materials, packaging, finished product and process (collection and logging of samples for micro, chemical, allergen testing).
- Manage manual and automated testing and recording related results. Completing spreadsheets and highlighting issues when seen.
- KPI’s / Reports for the Technical Manager & others in the SMT.
- Attend all relevant Management meetings.
- Manage the Hygiene / Industrial Cleaning teams, planning deep cleans around production schedules & daily standard cleaning activities.
- Manage & control the hygiene cleaning schedules & documentation.
- Pest Control Management.
- Quality Management or Supervisory experience within chilled food.
- Hygiene Management experience (Food).
- HACCP Level 3 or Level 4 & Food Safety Level 3 / 4 qualifications.
- BRC & Major Food Retailer Audits experience.
- BRC V8 experience & knowledge.
- QMS professional.
- Chilled Food experience.
This position is commutable from; Middlesborough, Newcastle, Sunderland, Redcar, Billingham, Eaglescliffe, Guisborough, Whitby, Hartlepool, Bishop Auckland, Spennymoor, Darlington & areas close to these.
