GBR Recruitment are working in partnership with a well established and highly progressive mild and stainless steel framework manufacturing and installation business, based in the heart of the East Midlands, recruiting for a Tekla and AutoCAD Technician to join their steels fabrication and build workshop team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Tekla and AutoCAD steels engineering professional to work on producing Tekla and AutoCAD drawings and production packs, plus project coordination and project management, producing take off lists, ordering steels and fixings to be used in the construction or fabrication of steel frameworks.
This steel engineering and construction business works to BS EN 1090-2:2018 ex2 producing high quality steel frameworks used in various construction industries. This role is for a design professional who is working in or has worked in steel construction, steel erecting and steel fabrication.
Duties:
- Producing technical drawings and designs using Tekla and AutoCAD design software
- Supporting the implementation of new technical drawing systems and working processes
- Producing job sheets and job packs for the Steel production team using Tekla and AutoCAD software
- Produce take off lists, plus ordering steels, metals and fixings
- Complete galvanising lists and fixing lists
- Follow QA and QC systems
- Complete technical documentation
- Project coordinating and management
- Complete non-conformance documents when necessary
- Attend production and workshop meetings as part of the design team
Qualifications / Attributes:
- Strong in using Tekla and AutoCAD design software (Tekla design software experience is a must have)
- Steel fabrication and Steel engineering or construction experience
- BS1090 ex2 workshop compliance knowledge and experience
- ISO 9001 knowledge and experience
- Understanding of Steel Workshop processes
This role is suitable for those Tekla and AutoCAD design professionals living in Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Northamptonshire, or a Tekla design professional who is looking to relocate to the East Midlands.
