GBR Recruitment are working in partnership with a Leicestershire based bespoke steel fabrication business recruiting for an all rounder Steel Erector / Steel Fitter Welder to work across clients site within c.100 miles radius of Leicester.
The client works to BS1090-2 standard, with civils, groundworks & build capabilities, plus full turnkey project management capabilities.
The company provide bespoke steel infrastructure installations on projects across both the public & private sectors.
Duties
- You will complete steels projects for ground mounted steel frameworks, rooftop steel frames, solar canopy infrastructure, plinths, stairs, ducting etc & smaller projects on highways, rail, bridges plus pylons.
- This key role is based in the field based site installation team, so you will be working in close connection with the steel workshop team, delivering survey information & problem solving from site to ensure the steels & associated parts are made correctly to the site specifications / clients needs.
- You wont be welding on site, this is all completed by others in the clients workshop, however knowledge of fabrication would be essential in order to spot defects etc.
- You will commute to the Leicestershire yard daily to unload/load vehicles & to pick up work orders for the next installation project.
Attributes Required
- An NVQ qualification in Steel Erecting or similar.
- Possess experience in both Mild & Stainless-Steel fabrication processes.
- Basic site surveying experience, plus reviewing the scope of works needed.
- Comfortable being trained on internal software to upload site information & site photos. Drawings can be printed.
- Can work as an individual or lead a small crew on jobs (3-5 guys on-site).
- Full UK driving licence required as will drive the vans & flat-beds.
- Must be happy to cover the 100 miles radius plus return to the yard at the end of the day in preparation for the following days work.
- Happy to stay away when needed (odd times, not regularly).
