This is a fantastic opportunity for a top level HR professional, that is in a Human Resources Director, People Services Director, Head of HR or Head of People capacity within a Group or across a multi-site operation.
The HRD will ideally have had exposure to an array of differing industry sectors, such as construction & the built environment, construction plant machinery / MHE, M&E, transport & logistics, manufacturing & engineering (several of these would be ideal).
As the HR Director of this conglomerate of companies that provides a variety of services into different UK markets & industries, you will be one that directs, manages & delivers the people agenda in order to support the delivery of the overall business strategy & to achieve business goals, aims & objectives across the whole of the group.
You will lead from the front providing strategic HR / ER / EDI expertise, oversee payroll is completed accurately by the Payroll Manager, plus be a hands on HRBP to the senior leadership team & the Board.
You will successfully scale change management, pay & employee benefits, employee / labour relations (ER), contracts, policies & procedures, absence management, disciplinary management, TUPE, leadership coaching, talent management, cultural & environmental development, along with compliance support mitigating employment risks.
Duties:
* HR specialist advisor to the Board of Directors & Senior management team across the holding company & associated subsidiaries
* Provide leadership on all HR matters, to ensure compliance with legal standards at all times
* Lead, mentor & manage the HR Manager, HR Officers, HR administrator, Payroll Manager, Payroll administrator & receptionist
* Provide leadership to the wider HR & Payroll team, plus manager the full spectrum of ER in line with employment law & industry governance
* Provide leadership to the Payroll team & provide professional advice across the group with regards to pay & benefits along with HMRC compliance
* Ensure all employee contracts, policies & procedures are governed, up to date, standardised & in line with employment legislation
* Responsible for the People XD HR & Payroll software, drive the team in system improvements to enable efficiency & skills enhancement
* Manage & oversee the Directors payroll, supporting 1 monthly & 6 weekly payrolls
* Drive & deliver continuous improvements with accurate HR data insights & HR dashboard statistics
* Manage the groups staff bonuses & all employees annual pay review processes
* Oversee pension scheme administration to ensure compliance with annual Pension Governance
* Manage negotiations & support administration of all company employee benefits to ensure compliant & that they are fit for purpose
* Develop, monitor & maintain best practice recruitment & best practice selection processes that supports the ‘Right people, right skills, right culture’ principles & adheres to EDI, ensuring the full compliance with all legal requirements
* Lead initiatives to drive health & well-being (mental & physical)
* Data protection lead (DPL)
* Governance of MI & adhering to GDPR legislation
* Introduce leadership & management programmes to strengthen internal management / leadership capabilities
* Business partner with colleges, apprenticeship & professional qualification training providers, to support & grow the construction skills pipeline
* Responsible for managing the HR budget & government levy’s.
* The lead for all HR, ER, EDI projects, managing them effectively
Attributes of the HRD:
* CIPD L7 qualified
* Group or multi-site HRD / Head of HR experience
* Experienced in construction, logistics, transport, plant machinery, M&E building services, manufacturing or similar (several would be advantageous)
* Used to having a real influence at board level
* 360 degree HR Generalist
* Strong HR, ER, EDI & Payroll experience / knowledge
* Used to leading a team of 5-10 in HR
This role is commutable from Leicester, Nottingham, Derby, parts of Northamptonshire, Warwickshire & parts of Lincolnshire
The position will suit a HR professional, working as a HR Director, Head of HR, People Director, People Services Director, Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), Chief People Officer, Vice President of Human Resources, Head of Human Resources & Director of People Operations, or similar at a top level of HR in a company / organisation.
