Are you an engineer looking to take the first step from the shop floor into a customer‑facing technical support position? As part of a strong existing field‑based application sales team this role will focus on technical and sales support to customers, working in close collaboration with the Technical Sales Engineer and Key Account Manager teams. We are seeking candidates based in the East of England and surrounding areas, including Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Cambridgeshire, Herts, Beds, Bucks, Northamptonshire, Warwickshire and the West Midlands. For the right candidate with a solid foundation in CNC metal cutting, we can offer specialist product knowledge training to develop a successful career in cutting tools application sales. No previous sales experience is required.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert technical advice and support to customers, helping identify the most effective tooling and production solutions.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships through regular site visits and proactive account management.
- Support business growth by working closely with the Technical Sales Engineer to identify opportunities and develop customer accounts.
- Deliver technical consultations, product demonstrations, and cutting trials in collaboration with Sales and Project teams.
- Drive customer success through process optimisation, resolution of technical queries, and effective management of tool service machines at customer sites.
Qualifications
- Successful completion of a recognised engineering apprenticeship, with a bias towards CNC machining.
- Minimum 5 years post‑apprenticeship experience in CNC machining/metal cutting.
- Located in one of the specified counties above.
- A full driving licence – role involves frequent daily travel.
- High levels of tenacity, drive & motivation, confidence to work autonomously and excellent communication skills.
