Overview

GBN Staffing is seeking reliable and hardworking Grounds Maintenance Workers to join its Street Scene team. This role involves maintaining public open spaces across the area, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, safety, and presentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out general grounds maintenance including grass cutting, planting, pruning, and hedge trimming
  • Undertake street cleansing duties, litter picking, and bin emptying
  • Assist with maintenance of sports pitches, cemeteries, and public spaces
  • Operate a range of machinery and vehicles including mowers, strimmers, and tractors
  • Prepare and mark out sports pitches to required standards
  • Use pesticides and herbicides in line with relevant regulations (PA1/PA6)
  • Ensure all work is completed safely, following health & safety procedures
  • Complete basic administrative tasks including record sheets and equipment checks
  • Provide support and guidance to less experienced or temporary staff when required

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years experience in grounds maintenance, horticulture, or street cleansing
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Experience using grounds maintenance machinery and equipment
  • Knowledge of safe working practices and health & safety regulations
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • PA1 and PA6 certification (desirable)
