Job Summary

Join Revvity's Bioprocessing R&D team as a Senior Scientist, where you will drive innovation in our CHOSOURCE Expression platform. This is a hands‑on, lab‑based product development role focused on advancing CHO‑based expression technologies for biotherapeutic production. You will tackle real‑world expression challenges, from optimizing productivity to enabling successful expression of diverse biologics and translating your findings into commercial products that empower biopharma customers worldwide. As a senior member of the team, you will play a key role in shaping the scientific direction of the platform and contributing to a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead independent research projects to develop and validate new CHOSOURCE platform features for both stable and transient expression applications, from experimental design through execution, analysis, and troubleshooting
  • Identify and evaluate emerging technologies and scientific trends relevant to CHO‑based expression systems, proposing novel approaches to enhance platform performance and differentiation
  • Apply gene editing technologies to engineer and develop novel host cell lines with enhanced production characteristics
  • Collaborate with peer senior scientists to drive cross‑functional problem‑solving and advance platform capabilities
  • Foster collaborative relationships within the team and across Revvity departments
  • Maintain comprehensive laboratory documentation and develop standard operating procedures
  • Present clear, concise data at both internal and external meetings
  • Support IP generation and regulatory documentation as needed for product commercialization

Essential Competencies & Requirements

  • Ph.D. in life science (molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology or genetics) with a minimum of 5 years of postdoctoral experience or industry experience in a relevant scientific field
  • In-depth knowledge of CHO cell line development, including stable pool generation, single cell cloning, and clone screening
  • Strong expertise in gene editing technologies with hands‑on experience in mammalian cell line engineering, including targeted integration, gene knockout, and knock‑in strategies
  • Practical understanding of the challenges associated with expressing diverse biologics including difficult‑to‑express proteins and more complex biologics
  • Advanced molecular biology skills, including expertise in diverse cloning methods (Gibson assembly, Golden Gate assembly), PCR, qPCR, and ddPCR
  • Experience applying Design of Experiment (DoE) methodologies to experimental design
  • Strong analytical mindset with ability to troubleshoot complex technical problems systematically
  • Proven ability to work effectively in cross‑functional, fast‑paced environments
  • Exceptional team collaboration skills with strong communication abilities and meticulous attention to detail
  • Demonstrated scientific curiosity with a proactive approach to knowledge development and a track record of translating research findings into tangible products
