As Fleet & Compliance Manager, based at our Warrington Depot, you will play a critical leadership role within the GBA Dedicated Fleet Business Unit. Reporting to the Operations Manager - Dedicated Fleet, you will be responsible for ensuring full legal and operational compliance across the fleet, while driving high operating standards, cost control, and continuous improvement. You will lead and develop a specialist team, work closely with suppliers and service providers, and support Transport Management teams to ensure daily adherence to Operator Licence and driver compliance standards. Balancing commercial awareness, operational excellence, and people leadership will be central to your success in this fast-paced environment. You will also take ownership of a vehicle procurement, replacement, and transition programme, ensuring the fleet remains compliant, efficient, and fit for future growth.
Responsibilities
- Ensure full compliance with Operator Licence (O-Licence) requirements, including driver compliance, OCRS performance, and VOL standards.
- Develop, implement, and maintain fleet compliance procedures and operating standards.
- Lead, motivate, and develop a team to consistently deliver high operational and compliance performance.
- Manage fleet asset costs within agreed budgets and P&L targets.
- Own and deliver the vehicle procurement, replacement, and transition programme, including reporting.
- Manage internal and external workshop performance, ensuring cost control, efficiency, and SLA adherence.
- Oversee fuel card administration and drive fuel efficiency improvements.
- Monitor and improve driving style, MPG, and fleet performance using telematics and camera systems (e.g. Samsara).
- Ensure effective use and compliance with telematics and in-cab camera systems.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- CPC qualified.
- Proven experience in a Fleet, Compliance, or Transport Management role within a regulated environment.
- Strong working knowledge of Operator Licence compliance, driver regulations, and OCRS.
- Experience managing fleet costs, budgets, and P&L performance.
- Confident people leader with experience managing and developing teams.
- Commercially aware with a strong focus on operational excellence.
- Experience working with telematics systems (e.g. Samsara) and performance data.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience working with suppliers and service providers.
- Highly organised, detail-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in data analysis and reporting (e.g. Excel, fleet reports).
- Proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to influence and drive change.
