Overview

Based at a prestigious customer site, you will be responsible for all aspects of running a day shift in a dynamic, fast-moving transport operation. This includes driver management, legal compliance, safety, service, quality and financial performance. Your influence will be pivotal in developing and supporting your team, while upholding overall standards and achieving KPIs.

Responsibilities

  • Driver and team performance management, including ensuring the shift meets KPIs.
  • Operational and resource planning.
  • O Licence conformance and legal compliance.
  • Ensure Health and Safety standards are strictly adhered to.
  • Support Contract Manager with driver recruitment, inductions and driver re-training where required.
  • Support Contract Manager with ongoing investigations.
  • Deal with regular customer interaction.
  • Shift reporting and operational handovers.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience managing drivers, ideally in large-scale retail operations.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure in a time-critical, service-driven environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Preferred qualifications: CPC (Transport Manager) desirable.
